Eurocopter has completed the delivery of two EC145s to Helicopteros Marinos, an Argentinean offshore operator that serves the oil and gas industry in the southernmost area of Argentina. The company is the third offshore operator in Latin America to have selected the EC145. These aircraft are scheduled to go into service in January 2010.

Helicopteros Marinos operates in very remote areas and in hostile environments. The company does not currently have an aircraft dedicated to search and rescue (SAR) capabilities and one of the EC145s will be covering the other in terms of SAR. “We are very confident in reliability of the EC145 and this helicopter is the perfect size for our operation covering oil rigs within up to 60 nautical miles of the coast. This helicopter delivers the performance, reliability, cabin size and adaptability to match the high expectations of our customer TOTAL AUSTRAL in this region,” said Marcelo Florio, CEO of Helicopteros
Marinos SA.
