Cessna Delivers Five 172S Skyhawks to Northwestern Michigan College’s Aviation Program

WICHITA, Kan., Aug. 06, 2009 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, yesterday delivered five new Cessna 172S Skyhawks to Northwestern Michigan College at the company’s customer center in Independence, Kan. The order came through Suburban Aviation Inc., a Cessna authorized sales representative.

Northwestern Michigan College is a publicly funded community college in Traverse City and has been training pilots since 1967. The school’s Aviation Program serves about 350 students each year ranging from collegians to community aviators to teens participating in youth exploratory programs. The school accumulates about 8,500 flight hours per year with a fleet of 12 aircraft. With yesterday’s delivery, Northwestern Michigan College now has six 2009 model Skyhawks featuring the G1000 avionics system.
