The H145 continued to be a regular site in the skies above Brazil in April with stops in Rio de Janeiro and the Brazilian Navy’s air base in São Pedro da Aldeia.
In total, 28 flights were performed for operators such as the Brazilian Navy; Rio de Janeiro’s civil police and fire brigade; oil and gas operators such as Petrobras, Omni and Erickson; the Argentinian Ministry of Security; and several private customers, among others.
The Brazilian Navy performed seven demo flights whose main goal was to evaluate the H145 for their light utility helicopter tender. A variety of naval missions, such as search and rescue, passenger transport and external load transport missions, were successfully simulated.
The Navy’s evaluation cumulated on April 13 by landing the helicopter on the Almirante Maximiano, a polar ship anchored in Río de Janeiro following a mission in Antarctica. The Navy pilots underlined the intuitive nature of the glass cockpit and the overall easy handling and stability of the aircraft.
Since the start of the H145’s Brazilian demo tour in early March, the aircraft has performed 81 flights and welcomed more than 70 pilots and nearly 450 passengers.
The H145 heads next to Bolivia and Peru.
